Just like in every sport, surf also has some little, talented stars who were lucky enough to achieve a recognized career at a young age. Now we show you the 5 most outstanding superkids who are all under 14 years of age.
Winter Vincent
This Australian kid started surfing at the age of 4 but his superpower is not only the enormous amount of surfing skills but his generous heart also. Being a proud ambassador of Waves For Water, a charity dedicated to providing access to clean water for those in need around the world, Winter launched Surf to School Day at the age of 9, a surf themed ‘mufti’ day with spare change donation. Over 26 primary and secondary schools have hosted Surf to School days in Australia, Indonesia and the USA so far, raising about $42,000.
“Baby” Steve Roberson
The 10-year-old little guy was the youngest to surf the world-class point of Honolua Bay at the age of 4 that immediately made him to become a YouTube star and a promising athlete who is worth keeping an eye on. Earlier this year, he continued shocking the world by rocking the legendary waves of the Jaws, hence becoming the youngest person to ever surf the spot. Baby is a real titan who definitely will break tons of world records and win dozens of awards. Can’t wait to watch his next step.
Quincy Symonds
Mostly known as the “Flying Squirrel”, Quincy is one of the best surfers in the world for her age. The Australian born little champion is famous for her special, perfect surf technique that has drawn comparisons to the biggest surfing legends and is the reason of her nickname – she is literally flying during riding the waves. Even dough she was born with adrenal insufficiency and reacts strongly to illnesses, she enjoys her active life often spent with rugby and ping pong besides surfing.
Sierra Kerr
Daughter of professional surfer Josh Kerr, this 11-year-old little girl absolutely inherited not only her father’s talent but his extreme sports enthusiasm as well, carrying out technical tubes at the Surf Ranch that many advanced adult surfers have failed to do. Also starting surfing at the age of 4, Sierra is totally fearless on all kinds of boards and uses her passion to encourage other young girls too.
Brayden Burch
The San Clement born 13-year old boy won in the last two Western Surfing Association (WSA) contests this year and is now leading the ratings in the WSA and Scholastic Surf Series (SSS). Besides already being supported by the best brands, such as O’Neill Wetsuits, and dreaming about to win multiple world titles, his big passion is travelling. With having plenty of stamps in his passport, he loves the opportunity to meet new people and new cultures along the way.
These kids all do what they enjoy most in their life and their incredible stories are so inspiring for many people not to be afraid to start living their biggest dreams.
